Firstly I hop I have conformed to the rules!!
If anyone can tell me how to post pics direct rather than links I would be grateful.
Finally I am a complete novice and have recently purchased my first SLR (DSLR), so any comments on composition and digital improvements would be really gratefully received, I can already spot tons wrong with them myself.

All you have to do is use and or click on the yellow pic above the text that looks like a mountain peak.
I have only used the smaller versions as the full size ones break forum guidelines of 800 pixels on the longest side.
1st and 3rd pic are really nice not sure about the second the colours feel wrong with the high contrast.
Awww cute.
Put ... around the html pages of your images
Also there are several posts about this .. try searching the tutorials section
Yep I gree with IanC.
1st is ... cute!
The 2nd one is wrong.
Third needs better composition a bit of chin and manly chest dont arn't quite enough. Probably needs Dads(?) face too.

#1 and #3 are lovely shots... #2 doesn't work for me I'm afraid - the composition and colours are all wrong.
Beautiful son you have btw :)
No1. Lovely. I might be tempted to crop this quite tight on the left?
No2. Whatever you had in mind, it's not working.;)
No3. I really like this. I'd clone out dad's chin which is just distracting. I like the big strong protective hand. If the pic is a crop I'd try to make more of the hand.
I think No2 works but looks out of place with the other two.

Thanks for your comments and for being gentle with me!
I will try re-cropping daddy holding my son photo and if I am feeling really brave have a go at cloning out the chin.
No 2 was just a fiddle in photoshop - so I guess thats best left to those who know what they are doing!!
Now just have to work out how to adjust the length of photo's to conform to guidelines..
Really good photos, number 1 is my fav

Hi Vineweevil,
If you dont experiment you dont learn, so don't give up on it just yet.

A nice trio to start with Vineweevil ...
Agree with previous comments about the order of things ... but as has also already been said ...you have got to post, listen, experiment, post, listen, experiment ... et al ...to get the best out of your gear and this forum ...:D
Look forward to your next set m8 ...
:p
Number three is the sort of thing I'd expect to see in an exhibition of contemporary photography. It's very edgy, apart from the mouth in the top left. I'm sure you were probably going for cute rather than slightly unnerving, modern art type stuff but that's how it looks to me and I like it.

Excellent shots! I really like all three.
My person opinions are:
1st shot - excellent work, slightly busy (with the other objects in there) but regardless of that I still think it's great, purely because of the look you've captured on your sons face. If anything I think it could benefit from a bit more contrast. How did you go about converting the image to mono?
2nd shot - I really like this one. Possibly because I've been playing about with similar style shots myself recently, but if that were my son that would be a picture I'd be proud to have on my wall. Nice and different. Is there any chance you could bring out a bit more detail in his eye though? I'm going to assume that he's go blue eyes, and it would be a shame to lose that detail.
3rd shot - a great sense of scale. How much does/did that nipper weight? Nice expression on his face again too. The problem is the fuzz and your chin are a little too distracting.
Great stuff. Oh and take my opinions with a pinch of salt as I'm fairly new to all this, I just really liked these photos so felt that I had to say *something* :)
