Many thanks to everyone the eother day who responded to my query re which lense to get for my 350D, although some of you thought that i could purchase a USM IS lense for under 200quid......happy days!!!
unfortunately not.....but from the good sound advice i did receive, i have wittled it down to two lenses. If anyone has any arguements for or against please let me know.
The two i am looking at for my budget are:
Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 AF Macro XR Di A61 Lens
Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Macro

Kind regards

Happy snappin...

Probably not much in it to be honest....

I think you will better off with the Sigma. That Tamron, I THINK, is a digital only lens which will produce a lot more vignetting compared to the full fram Sigma. I have always used Sigma and have had no troubles whatsoever (so far). So if it were me, then that would be the one.

I used to own a Sigma 28 to 300 and it did the job. the nice thing about a lens that does 28 to 300 is that you don't have to change your lenses when you see that once in a lifetime photo opportunity.

I have recently bought a new Sigma APO 70-300 Macro, and the quality of sigma lenses in my opinion is still very good.
