hi guys and gal's can you help ive chosen the 055cxpro4 as the tripod for me. but am complety stuck on what head to buy:thinking:

ive just got back from shoot in namibia with freeman paterson and he uses the 222 ball head and strongly recomend's it.

but im stuck between getting a ball head and a three way head. is the a difference bewteen the two in terms of angle's that i can achieve with the head.

i think that it is really important to get the set up right as it is so important

any help and suggestions welcome thank you.

ill keep looking getting confused

322 grip head all the way,

speed of adjustment and positioning is superior to either of the other designs.

that looks good, does it hold firm all the time even at 90 or does it slip? does even do full 90?

I think it would help to know what photography you will use the head for most before making recommendations - otherwise you will get a lot of 'I love my XXYYXX head' posts.

THAT'S FARE ENOUGH i enjoy car photography and i am staring a bit portrait and a landscape all round really. i have a monopod for motosport e.t.c so it just has to be a strong diversible head not like the one i have now that at vertical your luck if it will lock

cheers

it'll cover a full range of movements, and after having a 3 way head prior to this.....I speak from experience when I say it does it quicker.

Re creeping

it has no problem holding my "gripped" 5D with a 70-200 f2.8 or even the 400 f5.6

In extreme simple terms its a fancy ball head :D

RC222 is a good head for quickness although its not great for heavy camera/lens combos.

I run a 410 geared head now after my Rc222 was broken by my son but I have no need for quick movements with it as my subjects are still
