Hmmm! I dont like to be the first to comment as I dont have as much experience as most the guys but Ill start the ball rolling for you.

If I were to choose one personally, it would be no2. You have a nice contrast going on between the dak grainy bark & the blue background & I like the shapes but as with the other 2, there seems no real point to it, if you get what I mean. Tis just a bit uninteresting in that theres nothing specific for my eye to rest on, no point of focus.
I like the way you have caught the sun on the leaves in 3 but personally Id have concentrated on just a couple of leaves or stood back a bit more.
I sometimes get confused myself as to when to fill the frame with the subject but when I have & it doesnt work I can usually see it but then sometimes it takes someone else to point it out for me too.

Jmo...hope you get more feedback.

Sorry, but I've a cold and feel poop. You asked so I'll say it as I see it....

Was expecting a lot more from the title.... not just bits of trees.

1. Too cropped. Colours not punchy enough.
2. It's a tree trunk. Nice bark (not exactly autumnal, it's there all year).
3. Middling shot of some green leaves (again not autumnal). DOF is out.

Now I'm off to be misserable somwhere else :(

Hey Oldgit, Sorry your feeling bad but thanks for taking the time to give some usefull and constructive critism it gives me something to go on, positive or negative it is how we learn and improve but not comments at all gives nothing to build on. I accept you evaluation. Thanks :help:

Ahh its nice to know I'm not the only grumpy old sod around here :D At the moment me angina's giving me hell so I think I might just rip off this flippin nico patch and go and have a fag :(

It is strange the way that sometimes we post a picture and get lots of views but no comments, good or bad. Thing is that most of the time I think its because this image game is so subjective, what I think captures a moment or a scene may not do the same for everyone else. It's easy if the cropping is wrong or the exposure is off or any other glaring technical problem. Under these circumstances comments will (generally) readily follow, but when its more to do with ones perception of a scene its not always that easy to comment. All we can do is keep on trying, but at least this is a forum where you do get a 'real' feedback not just a back slapping session.

Now I'm starting to ramble so I think I'll go and have some 'therapy' :cuckoo:
