these were taken with a Fuji S5600 on manual, i used a cheap suction mount from maplins to support the camera (cost £6)
Top one rings a bell, didn't someone else do a shot like that???

Very different Dal ... third is the clear winner as it really gives the impression of movement/speed ...
:p

i really like the last one now.
The levels work really needed doing! Looking much better now! 1st and 3rd are my faves.
Those are pretty good shots, and something I keep meaning to have a go at. Finding a mount that will tkae my DSLR is tricky without spending ££s. I have a cheap mount (similar to yours I think) but it wont take my D70.
Very impressive. I likes all 3.

I like the 1st & 3rd one... and I like the unusual angles, and the face in the mirror in 2 is a nice touch - deliberate?
But after twisting my neck (then giving up and rotating the image instead - doh!), I thought the 3rd gave a more 'speedy' sensation when the car was 'right way up' ...
Number 3 is excellent Dal, they reminded me of this one I took earlier this year, mine nearly cost me my licence though!

If you mind me posting this pic in your thread give me a nod and I`ll remove it.
I wish I could find the time to get out and experiment with my s5600!

yeah i do mind you posting pics in my thread lol. of course i dont mind matey. u getting on ok with your camera then??
i dread to think how it nearly cost you your liscence, all the ones taken above were done at no more than about 3-4mph, and it was at lakeside right outside the police station, a copper actually asked me and my mate what we were doing, he was quite impressed when my mate said its a photoshoot lol

Nice one Dal, the first is my fave, the colours are a big part of these type of shots.
If you enjoyed taking these, here another idea; If you have a tripod with legs you can manipulate, try extending two legs out and through the headrests with the tripod head out the window, the third leg angle out and resting on the sill area. As someone is driving, or better still pushing (less vibration) you walk alongside the car with your neck strap held tight in your hand, just in case.
As used here : http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=5433
Or if your feeling really adventurous (sp?) have a go at this: http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=5472
Hope it helps.
Nice, I too like the first one, it works well

thanks for the links. i was trying to think about making up a small rig and came across these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HEAVY-DUTY-DUAL-SUCTION-CUP_W0QQitemZ260054896461QQihZ016QQcategoryZ303QQr dZ1QQcmdZViewItem on ebay and was trying to think how i could make it work, and now i see how. one question though, can you use those suction cups on the paintwork or will it damage the panel?? if its ok then i will order those suction cups right now.
thank u
I use a suction mount for my camcorder for trackdays, it's a Manfrotto - might have a go at mounting outside the car
Cost me about £70, not cheap but worth it for the versatility and it can support around 2Kg of kit

i was told about them when i went into a shop called camera world in chelmsford. for what i'm doing at the moment i wanna keep all the costs down, but that brand keeps popping up so i may invest in the future.
just found this picture on google image search and it appears to be using the same method as yours Liberalis. think i will order those suction mounts.

Bloody TopGear, nicking my idea's Humph!
Dal, nice effort there, well done.
Seen the sensor dust on the wing of that topgear shot? slackers ! ;)
Terrible editing on that Zonda. There was an article in one of the photo mags recently about this stuff and they used a rig which bolted to the bottom of the chassis, ran along one side of the car, stuck out the front by a few feet then a bar went across the front of the car to the other side which the rig for the camera mounted onto. If you look at the bottom right of the picture (front right of the car) you can see the reflection of the rig and where it's been cloned out for the road setion and they've got to the front splitter and stopped. Lazy gets ;)
and the suction cup mount on the bonnet!! thats terrible.
Superb shots tbh. Well done.
cheers everyone.
i've managed to make my own mount up now and have taken some shots but i wasn't that happy with them, will take some more soon and will post up some new pictures.
A picture of the mount design/construction would be of intrest too!
like em very much dal im surprised i havent seen these yet as im asuming the 1st pic is lees lol lol
