Nice one.
You should be proud to have such a nice mossy tree. :)
Seriously tho. This shot is spot on for DOF and exposure, but could probably do with a crop to reduce the prominance of the tree. Which is what I find myself looking at not the boy.
:agree: lose some of the tree and it will bring the focus back onto the main subject.

I pondered a crop, but just couldn't seem to get the crop right.....it just seemed to be missing something without part of the tree in view....
Anyone offer a better idea for a crop?

Cant beat a big full-on face portrait, imo .... i guess the grass & highlights still need to be toned down a bit

:agree: ... just about spot on with this crop ... subject is no longer fighting for attention ...
:p
I think you should stick with your initial instinct - he's looking around the tree, which is a huge part of the charm of the shot, so of necessity, the tree is part of the picture. If I were to crop it at all I might think about cropping tighter on the right.

I'm inclined to agree with Cedric - although I'd probably just crop a little off the bottom. Cute pic though
