Hi,
I'm just after a general sort of view of what *** think of the following picture of Rick Parfitt (Status Quo).
I took it at the Birmingham gig in May this year and had a go at it in photoshop. I'm also thinking of asking Rick to sign a few and put them on eBay? Do u think they'd sell?
Thanks for any critique.

Hi Jamie ... seems to be a pretty good pic in there trying to get out ... not sure the overall treatment does it justice ... imo ...
Also I don't really like the watermark/name thing over the pic ... totally distracting and spoils it ... imo ...
If you know him that well to get the siggys then go for it ...
:p

I'm all for protecting your pictures - especially if you're after making money out of them, I think in this case the watermark makes it extrememly difficult to offer critique and evaluate the picture on its own merits - I can't tell if the overall blue colour is part of the picture or the watermark.
I just think its an odd attitude to have - "hey guys could you have a look at this picture for me and tell me what you think, only i wont let you look at it without the watermark incase you steal it and try to make money from it"
Thats just my personal opinion mind you.

well i was just about to put another version on without the watermark!
And i wasnt saying a member would use the image, just someone browsing the site!
hi Jamie, why not post a small sized pic? At least then we can see the pic, the watermark totally obliterates the image, no-ones going to nick it like that, your quiet correct!
Personally i always associate Parfett with a Telecaster, it woul dbe more valuable to me if the shot was full length

thats much better, I quite like it - not sure about the left hand side of the face though, is there anything you can do to make it a little less harsh - if that makes sense?

Okay ill try the blendin options change the opacity a bit, thanks again
I bought a few of their early albums - then I sort of grew out of them. I guess a lot of people didn't as they are still going strong :)
Not keen on the 'artsy' treatment myself but I can see what you are after and it might work out. Good luck but I wont be bidding ;)

Think you did well here Jamie but agree that a full-length portrait would be the ideal vehicle. If you dont have it it but can get the sig the job will probably be done just the same! :)
The original image looks ok for a 'stage' photo, but the treatment's a bit OTT for my liking. Maybe if you used different colour combinattions? I mean, Pink and Turquoise...? hmmm...
I think it would make a good advertising poster, using the space left and right to fit details of gigs etc.
