Sorry this has made me chuckle... How many people complained about the price of the D3x compared to the 1Ds... And now all those people seem to have gone quiet recently. I just realised why, the D3x is now cheaper by some £6-700 than the 1Ds
And there's only a £1600 ( roughly ) price difference between the D3 and the D3x, which seems reasonable to me...
Probably old news, I haven't been on here much recently, but it made me chuckle.

EOS 1DS Mark III £4988.99
Nikon D3X Body £4799.00
Looks like £189 difference to me!
Jessops still sell the D3X several hundred pounds more than the 1Ds

Jessops isn't really a good comparison though is it, lets face it their prices are all over the place.
I looked at a lot of the big name retailers and found the same thing, the D3x a lot cheaper than the 1Ds where they had both in stock.
Still can't afford one, but it did make me chuckle.
Except I can get a 1Ds III right now for £2800! lol
You just need to time it right. :)

Bugger me, if I had known about that I would have driven the 400 miles each way to get one. :( I've been off work most of this week too :bang:
Nope, special, in shop, not on the web, talk to real people kind of deal. :)
Having said that I don't know quite how many they were prepared to let go at that price but I was offered one if I wanted it, they would have put it aside for me till the offer started.

I will take it if you do not want to take them up on it ....
Get them to put one aside for you.
Probably been and gone by now mate. It was on the 27th.
I'd have got one and sold it on here for a profit if I was that unscrupulous but then I'd have had to give it away and you could probably part a mother from their newborn more easily.
Just realised it's the 27th May, not the 27th April.
Hmmm! looks like I may have to make a trip to Manchester soon!

Okay, I'm now like the Irishman that was put in a cylindrical room and told to pee in the corner. Confused!
Is it the 27th April or the 27th May?
