Just to compliment the others - have a current obsession with long exposures and abstracts.

I think Hoodi was the only one not to fall on the rocks - I reckon all the Nikon kit acted as some sort of stabiliser.

Cheers

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I was wondering how your "long" shot would come out, and I think its worked tremendously well - infact, it's my favourite of these. Beautiful!
First and last are excellent too, loving the warm tones of the first!

Cheers. I did another at 240+ secs without the grad and the sky was completely blown on the right side although there were interesting clouds patterns on the left.

I'm inspired by two sites at present:

I like them all, but the second appeals most to me.... I take it the 3rd one was hand held?

Brilliant shots Milou! Might even say the best of the group :naughty:

The last shot has suffered from you pushing the exposure in PP (Hence Rwotton's hand held comment I think) and produced "noisy" clouds. If you are going to push long exposure pictures you should try averaging. This is very effective.

A good start on this subject is here (http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/noise-reduction.htm)

Cheers for that. By looking at the RAW file I reckon that another 3 minutes or so cooking time was needed.

I was taking the mick - was impressed you could do a 183 second exposure!

Super shots Milou. The man in #2 really adds a depth of scale to the shot.
