I used to do this with flower shots a couple of years ago...this has so much more impact! Excellent job!

scouring my folders for a suitable image this very moment...I told Barry I was going to do some knitting on my newly cleaned up old machine form my previous life but this is sort of similar...Barry has gone food shopping BTW ;)
Quite often I find effects like these a little tired and cheesey. I REALLY like this one though. Perfect choice of subject and great execution there.
Personally, I think it might look even better with the support beam inside the frame.

here's my idea....I didn't use the video tute that Mike posted....I used layers and layer masks and lassos and stuff ;) ....do you want to start a new thread for us to post in or is it ok to post in here?

That boat looks fantastic, and Mariannes shot looks very good, the drop shadow really adds to the effect and works well.
