Wireless flash

I'm think about getting a ST-E2 wireless flash transmitter and a few flashguns fr a multi set up, one thing holding me back.

1. Will it work with my Sigma 500dg Super and 2 or 3 sigma super's?

I use an ST-E2 with a Sigma 500 DG Super. It works but only in (E)TTL mode - it won't let you do manual flash via IR which annoys me. I've gone back to using an off-camera cord for it so I can set the output manually but soon I'm going to go further still and get PocketWizards, a stand, an umbrella and all necessary adaptors and cables.

The ST-E2 isn't worth it, IMO. Not if you're serious about portable, off-camera lighting, anyway.
