And even then it's not great ;)

Still, I thought I'd share it anyway as I don't remember uploading anything for quite a few months now...

C&C always welcome.

Thats very good, focusing looks spot on and with the panning you get a real sense of speed.

Looks great to me (granted Im not the worlds most experienced motor photog critic;) ), but it does have all the blur in the right places, the colours are strong and realistic, and you captured the subject in an action pose with good sharp detail.

Very good shot

And even then it's not great

Interested why on earth you would think that Braeden ... ... and earlier posts bear me out ... ;)

For me it is a great pic ... sharp where it should be ... motion blurred just about spot on ... bags of colour with a very clear non-distracting background ...

Only minor crit could be ... the lack of clear space in front of the bike for it to run into ... imo ...

Get a grip eh ... :D

:p

Tell you what's wrong with that - NOTHING.
I'd be chuffed if I took that .. Great colours

Bikes sharp, pan is good, exposure looks bang on, the expression in his eyes is clearly visable, spacing is great..........

Stop being greedy, that's enough from any one photo.

Thats pretty good. However at that res it looks like the bike isnt totally sharp - but its not really possible to tell.

There is a lot that is right with this shot, exposure, composition, technique etc.
Although I agree with Joe T about the sharpness.
I gave it a bit of a tweak, if you don't like it just say and I will remove it.

I'm always open to people tweaking.. as long as they tell me what they did so that I can recreate it :)

Thanks for the kind words though from everyone, I was starting to feel that 2006 was a waste of time as far as photography is concerned.

Still, I would have liked more than one photo that was worth sharing ;)

Personally think there is too much motion blur. Its all well and good being able to capture sharp images and 300mm @ 1/100th but applying just the right anount of blur and not overdoing it produces better results. Personally would prefer to of seen something with a slightly faster shutter speed. something that is different from the usual crop of motorsport photographs.

Sorry to rain on your post,...

King.

well the motion blur looks fine to me but then I don't know too much about this type of photography....I love the clear detail on the bike and its rider...looks great to me! Cheer up Braeden, I'm certain you have more from this year that are fine ;)

All has been said already, great shot, but just to pick up on what V said about giving the bike a little more space to move into;

Hope it helps.

All I see is a great pic!

I (like many people here, I guess) know what it is like to have dud periods in photography. At times you leap forward and others you just cannot get it right. You should be your own worst critic as that way you will aspire to do better but if it is stopping you progress you need either a break or to bring someone into your world to retain balance.

That's what these forums do. So get more of your work up here so we can see you come back to form!

Nothing wrong with that, a spot on capture...nice to see one a bit different with the front wheel up slightly.

I can't say your not the master of that technique, not even slightly. ;)

Superb shot. A very difficult technique to get consistantly right!
You should be very pleased with it :)

That is a cracking shot Braeden. I would be seriously chuffed to have bagged that one.

Just remember, I never think any it's a waste of time, as even if I come away with no keepers, I like to think that I've learnt something along the way, which IMO is invaluable.

Again...a cracker, you should be pleased with it
