View Full Version : Lenses -adding to the collection
I have a 40d and have the following - canon 50mm f1.8, sigma 24-60mm, canon 70-200mm f4, canon 17-85mm.
My interests are portraits, still life/product, sports and indoor events.
What should I get next and should I sell any of the above to help fund it?
Cheers
Are your current line of lenses letting you down in a specific area
Think I wish to move to a quality prime lens. Dont use my nifty fifty too much and my sigma is not always the best to AF.
Plus I want to treat myself!

Baed on this sell the Sigma 24-60, Canon 17-85 IS and the 50mm F1.8 and buy a 17-55 F2.8.
Or if you don't need the 17-24mm range get the 24-70 F2.8
:)
Obvious gap is at the wide-angle end, and a macro is missing. Sigma appears to be an obsolete duplicate, and you can drop the nifty-50 once the novelty has worn off.
If it was me, I would get an EF-S 10-22mm, EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro, and a nice big 580EX flash gun.
