Have been looking to get a macro lens for my sony.

Does anyone have any views on the sony 100mm macro, or the sigma 105mm? Or should I be looking at the 50mm?

Thanks for any comments.

hi ruth..i have the sigma 105 macro lens, and it's a great piece of kit.i don't have any experience of the sony version, but i don't believe it's any better than the sigma, but costs quite a bit more.i've been using mine today....here's some shots taken...

Wow those are amazing - and just the kind of thing I'd like to be taking myself.

Anyone used the sony version? How did you find that one? I might have the chance of a used sony, which would cost less than a new one; just need to compare the two really.

thanks ruth..as i said,i don't think you'll find any difference in image quality between the two,and if you can get a decent one 2nd hand cheaper...go for it
