Seriously though, as I said in MSN, really great captures and I'd be proud if these were the only two shots I got from a day's shooting.
You need to take the camera out more and stop putting yourself down when it comes to your talent, you're pretty good at it, no really, you are.....and I'm not saying that just because I want my forum title changed to "Jedi Master" or my postcount back :p
Good work :)
2nd one is very good.
The first would be a killer if the DOF was a little deeper as it is the edge of the eyes is OOF. Shame.

Class creepin' that Matt ... pure class ... :gag:
Fantastic eyes in both those Matty ...
The first has such a limited DoF though that it is detracting just a bit from the overall effect ... imo of course ...
The second is altogether different ... works really well in profile ... and especially with the superb eye detail ... liking it much ... and as DS says ... a couple to take pride in ... :D

The 2nd one is a cracker.
Nice work matt.
2nd is superb. as said the 1st needed more DOF but you know that! ;)
Great work. I assume they were in captivity otherwise you should be getting a medal for them.

Just what I was thinking!
Lovely shots, really good. I agree with the comments about the first one, but I think it could be argued that a very shallow DoF adds impact to the eyes. Might even be worth a bit of a play in PS to accentuate it even more! :D
first one was F3.5 so yeah a tad shallow
Keep it up matt, you might get a small rise in postcount...
thanks for the comments, i got a few more but those 2 were the ones that leapt out straight away
