View Full Version : Padley Gorge, Peak District
Hi Guys :)
Seeing as I introduced myself yesterday I thought I better show you a few of my images! Here are four from the last couple of weeks, taken at Padley Gorge in the Peak District.
Would love feedback on any/all of these if you guys get time :)
Cheers,
Natalya :)

Those look really good Natalya - I'd say you have a good eye there. They're a bit on the small side though. When you post pics in Gallery here you're allowed to post to a max size of 800 pixels along the longest edge of your pic, and not exceeding 160kb physical file size.
I'm really liking 1, 2 and 3 but I'd like to see them a little bigger. ;)

Thanks CT :) I am having real trouble resizing these particular images. Will have another go later today! Thanks for your help :)

Ditto what CT says. They are great shots but it would be nice if they were a tad bigger. Have you boosted the saturation as the greens look very vibrant?
LOL.. I meant 1,2 and 4 actually. What software are you using? If you're using CS2 there's a 'How To' on reducing pics for web viewing written by Matt (the mod)

Thanks CT, yes I am using CS2 (goodness knows why, I'm useless with PS!). Will check out the tutorial!! :)
Nice shots, nice place. Should have popped in for Tea on the way home! :)

Spent MANY a happy Sunday afternoon at Padley Gorge & Toads Mouth when I was a kid.

I was pointed in the direction of Padley Gorge by a friend and have visited twice the past couple of weeks, certainly somewhere I can see me going back to a few times!! I would love to see it with a more wintery feel...once this wind and rain disappears maybe we'll get some proper 'winter' weather!

Nice set Natalya, the second is my favourite. ...seen many shots of the gorge on this forum, always looks like a super place and you've certainly done it justice.
Can I suggest you post your next set at full size, that’s 800px on the longest edge....I find these way to small to view properly... I can't see you lovely images very well. ;)
Thanks for the comments folks, think I have just about got the hang of this resizing lark...will maybe try and repost the images in this thread a little bigger later today :)

Take a look across the road in the distance, there are some great craggy rocks and quite a few unfinished gritstone wheels and carvings in the rocks by the people who used to make them. Nice walk into Grindleford/Hathersage fron there too. I used to live in Grindleford and walk along there in winter.
If you walk along Padley Gorge far enough there used to be an old pumping house. Should still be there I reckon (sorry to be vague, it's getting on for 40 years since I saw it)

No I have to get off my *ss and post some pics here too! :)

All great captures, really liking the rich colours, favourite would be the last shot, like the isolated composition of this one.

All great shots, especially like #3 - the effect on the water is spot-on :)
Would have liked to see them a tad larger though (I always try to work to 800 pixels-ish on the longest edge for web display)
