Save up for lots of nice L grade bottles to go on the front!
Yup, 8.5fps - sounds gooooooood.
Enjoy.

Have two nice bits of "L". Will be saving for some faster bits now. This hobby has turned into a money pit!

My suggestion is to re-read the manual every month for 2-3 months. Mix in some time in the field and you'll actually know how to make use of the functionality. Ace camera.

start weight training... i got mine about 6 weeks ago and on the second day i spent 7 hours at a zoo with the 70-200 f2.8 on the front, couldn't lift my arms for days.

other then that just play, it is a two handed camera (you need both hands to change pretty much every setting on there. just keep flicking through the manual.

A good thing to know with the mk2 is that you need to use the firewire connection to change it's advanced settings through eos utility or to transfer images directly from the camera. It has a usb port as well which often confuses people who try to use it for that.

Thanks Werecow.

Definately need to arrange another meet guys. Will be needing a cady soon to carry all the kit. The 1DMkII is a big camera, still not as many buttons as any of the Nikon range though! :)

Learn to use smart sharpen properly as they have a very strong AA filter which means out of the camera the files aren't very sharp.

it is a two handed camera (you need both hands to change pretty much every setting on there. just keep flicking through the manual.

Very unusual controls.

To delete an image for example, hit and hold the delete button with your left hand. Whilst continuing to hold the delete button, rotate the rear dial with your right hand to highlight the on-screen "DELETE" and then release the delete button under your left hand. It's easy when you get the hang. ;)

Laughs at Kiko! :)

I'm only 5'4" and I have to handle that combination for up to 12 hours at a wedding!
Oh and juggle a 5D with a grip and a 24-105mm too. And a flashgun or two...

Get to the gym, you'll be fine. Enjoy! :)

Oh and as for deleting on camera guys and gals.........DON'T! you can corrupt the card. Much better to delete after you download and format the card before you use it again.

It's arrived, with thanks to Ric Type R. Top bloke to deal with. Makes my 40D & grip feel small! Stuck at work now though. Still, have a fortnight off after tomorrow :)

First thing to buy is a good monopod. Great for carrying the camera/lens over your shoulder (rather than have all that weight round your neck) and takes the weight off the arms/hands when shooting leaving your fingers free to do the fiddly things with the buttons and dials :)

Thanks DCCD. I have a sturdy monopod. I am just trying to work out how to grow two extra fingers now!
