Hi All,

I need help finding the best book for food photography lighting. At the moment i havent found a book especially for it but more for studio lighting?

I have both of Lou Mannas books which are fantastic but now i need a book that is specifically for food and drink photography or close enough to help me.

Many Thanks

Tizi

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_b?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Food+Photography - Have you checked Amazon??

http://www.davidloftus.com - This guy to me is the top food photographer. He has done all of Jamie Oliver's books and he's shot for many big titles as well. He uses just natural light and reflecters.

Lighting for Food and Drink Photography by Steve Bavister is the best book on the subject but you'd have more chance of winning the lottery than finding one for a reasonable price.

I'd agree with Ally's statement about natural light and reflectors as that's the perfect set-up for me. But for those times when it's just not an option I'd probably follow the advice in Digital Food Photography (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-Food-Photography-Lou-Manna/dp/1592008208/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1243267024&sr=1-1) over that of what's in Food Styling for Photographers (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Food-Styling-Photographers-Creating-Appetizing/dp/0240810066/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1243266707&sr=1-2).

Or you could go the whole hog and enrol yourself on PPSOP's The Art of Food Photography (http://www.ppsop.com/food.aspx) which will teach you everything you ever wanted to know and much, much more besides.

Blimey! That is rocking horse, isn't it? London residents may find that Newham library service have a copy, but you have to reserve it.

I've been trying to track down my own copy for a while now and it's now getting ridiculous. You'd think the damn thing was embossed with 24ct gold leaf.
