I have a bonus coming from work and I have the opportunity to take it in goods instead of cash. This will let me make some savings on VAT. This will give me approximately £2500.00 to play with.

The question is what to go for....... I have not used a "serious" camera for a few years and previously I have always used Contax SLR's, with lovely Zeiss lenses, but I am now looking at Nikon.

Should I get a D90 with something like 70-200mm f/2.8 and maybe 50mm 1.4G for company or should I get a D300 with 80-200mm f/2.8 and the 50mm 1.4G?

I look forward to your comments

What do you intend to photograph? We can give better suggestions if we know this.

A mixed bag really......... The reason for the telephoto lens is for photographing birds/wildlife in the garden and some motorsport. The 50mm was for general stuff, family portraits etc.
