View Full Version : My D70s (looking for a new lense)
Looking to wrack some of the brilliant brains on here. I have a Nikon D70s with the standard 18-55mm lense. I am looking for something that is going to be able to give me a bit of freedom to get very crisp photographs. I am into motorsport (still) photography.
Budget around 200-300.
Thanks again

In that price range I'd maybe go for the Nikon 55-200 VR. It's great value and very sharp. The 70-300 VR may be at the top end of your budget too. I've not used it but hear great things.
I'm still using a D70s and also have a 70-300 vr lens to use with it, the picture below was taken using the very lens. My walk around lens is the 18-70 and feel it's a great lens, but isn't long enough.
18-200 or 55-200 i believe would be a great move.

If you're looking to replace your kit lens, then I'd suggest a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8. If you want to compliment it then either the 55-200 VR or ideally, if your budget will stretch to it, the 70-300 VR.

Sigma 70-300mm APO version, this also has a not to bad macro function and well under budget but a fine lens.
