I have a D3 and think it still has version 1 of the software in it.
I have the update for it but am unsure whether to do it now as I have just read on dp review that it can cause problems?
has anyone had any problems after they updated the software?
About half way down the page in green..

I've upgraded the firmware twice on mine and experienced no problems at all  I also shoot in 14-bit uncompressed raw and at high continuos during skating competitions.
It does look a little dated though now to be fair:
'Today (April 2008) Nikon pulled the upgrade as in certain circumstances (shooting at maximum speed in 14-bit RAW mode) it can 'in rare circumstances' cause corruption of some images. We updated the firmware on our test D3 yesterday and have not been able to recreate the issue'

That firmware was the previous release not the current one, it got pulled due to an error which they fixed.
I haven't put the latest FW on mine yet but have had no problems updating before.
