Which lens...?

I'm still absolutely awful with equipment... I can't tell what anything means or does!

I'm looking for a zoom lens, roughly 28-70mm f/2.8 for use at gigs and similar occasions. Problem is I don't really want to spend much over £300 so I know I'm fairly limited...

Auto focus is essential... Any suggestions? Sorry for being a newbie :lol: I'll do my homework on equipment when I get the time! :D

While the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 is over £400, the 28-70 f2.8 is around £235.

The sigma can be had second hand for about £250 on eBay which would be under budget, only slightly more than the 28-70 but would be 4mm wider

I have been looking at the 28-70mm but i keep finding some at £250 and some at £120 with no apparent difference... So I was getting a bit worried.

Thanks for the help, I think I'll get looking for a good place to get one from :)
