Ordered a Sigma 1.4x teleconverter Nikon fit from camerabox, when it arrived the centre joint between the two halves were so loose I could get a 3mm movement. it was so bad that I could even see, looking at the converter from the side, right into the inner part of the unit.

Had I fitted it to my D300 and Sigma 70-200mm lens, the end of the lens would have been able to move at least by 1/4" + in any direction and I had a fear of it actually comming apart.

I was not impressed to say the least so it goes back today for a replacement or refund but I did ask for a replacement even though the don't seem to have another in stock.

There is a way of fixing this as I had similar - it's just a couple of screws that are loose. Having said that, I woiuld definately send it back as it's brand new.

There was a thread on here quite recently about Sigma converters working loose.

You have cut out the middleman and got one like that straight out of the box.

Camerabox couldn't do a replacement after they agreed it was faulty so offered a refund instead which I accepted. They said it may be several months before they get another in.
So i have ordered from another company "Photo Solutions" who have checked their converter for me before dispatching, so should have it on Tuesday.
