Can anyone recommend a bag for the D700? I like the Crumpler (record bag styles) that go across the shoulder and hang at your side. The 'Pretty Boy' range I think they're called? They look a bit funky and not too much like a camera bag.
I don't want anything too bulky, It just has to hold the D700, 2 medium-sized lenses and a flash.
Currently, I have the Lowepro rezo 160 and it is a very snug fit with the 24-70 attached. There's no room for much else. The SB-600 sits in it's own case attached to the Lowepro's shoulder strap. Not ideal.

Have a look at the redsnapper bags. There`s a review on here somewhere too. I cant remember the name of the one i have, but it holds an awful lot of stuff. This is either a name change or updated version clicky (http://www1.clikpic.com/Redsnapper/photo_2690758.html)
If you are going to go with a Crumpler, I don't think you should look at anything smaller than the 5500 (XXL) size, and might be best served by the 7500 (XXXL). I believe the Muffin Top line is replacing the Pretty Boy series and so may be harder to find a PB new, but size-wise they should be pretty similar.
If it helps, you can see some pics I took of my 400D with grip setup in a Pretty Boy 5500 XXL here. (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1539765&postcount=4)

Thanks for the link Paulie. Those look a little large though and not as nice-looking as the Crumplers (imo). Looks rugged and functional, but not quite what I'm after.
And thanks Limping - I'll have a search for those.

Saw an advert for the Lowepro Stealth Reporter today - perhaps that might be the sort of thing you're looking for ?

Not sure the question makes much sense, as how many and what sort of lenses you carry kinda ditates this - the camera is just a small part of the system...
Just buy a bag to carry your planned load, don't think of it as a bag for the D700.. as thats not really relevant.

Hi Andy - I stated the load in my opening post :)

Well I use a Tarmac shoulder bag, I don't really know what you mean by a medium sized lens, if it helps I can carry a D700 + 17-35 f/2.8 + 28-70 f/2.8 but I'd say those were large lenses. And I can fit a flash too.
I use a Crumpler Muffin Top 7500. Fits D700, 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, plus a 50mm 1.4, and batteries/filters/rocket blower in the front pouch.
A great bag overall imo and good value.

Thanks devitt - that sounds spot on. I need it to hold:
D700
Nikkor 24-70 2.8
Nikkor 85 1.4
SB600
A few odds and sods like batteries and a rocket blower.

Will easily hold that, with room to spare.
