I have the above lens from my SLR camera. Could any one give me any advice on how this lens would perform on my Nikon D40 if i can get a Nikon mount for it

As far as I know, you'll get the AF-Confirm electronic rangfinder lamp, you won't get metering. Optical quality will probably be alright.

I have quite a few Adaptall 2 lenses and happen to have a Nikon mount spare as well so when a friend of mine bought round his D90 I had to have a play.:)

Basically they work the same as any manual lens on a mid range Nikon as in no metering and no on body changing of aperture. Also the flash wouldn't fire. :thinking:

I have a couple of Nikon mounts but to be totally honest I am waiting to see what the new Pentax K-7 is like before selling them. If its as good as I hope then I will let them go but if not I may think hard about jumping to a D300 or waiting for whatever replaces it.
