Just got back from Birmingham, went to see Badly Drawn Boy & The Beautiful South at the NIA, great gig, just a shame no photography allowed:'( .

Good to hear you got out alive :D, glad it was a good show, really like The Beautiful South - lots of great songs.

Badluck on the photography, did you take a camera (and if so did you have to declare it), or did you know in advance and not bother?

Knew in advance, but told the wife I might try to sneak it in, good job I didn't as we were searched on the way in.

never take your camera gear to a gig with a big name band, you wont get it in and you'll risk being kicked out. take a compact but the results wont be very good.
you need a photopass for this kind of gig, you can get away with unsigned local bands though, just ask the person who runs the venue and check it through with the band
