My Christmas gift to me ... courtesy of that awfully nice TP member commonly known here as Kerso ... or Ian ... has arrived ... ;)

My photographic motivation has been dwindling to non-existence lately ... and to try and retrieve it ... I was 'watching' a number of new ... and as new bits and bobs on fleaBay when I came across a 'Kerso' thread on these forums ... ;)

Short story long ... dropped Ian a line and the prices he gave me for two of these items beat even the 'seconds' on final bid price ... :cuckoo:

I have just now received my Nikon MB-D200 Battery Grip ... and got the SB 800 Speedlight last Thursday ... just got to work them out and start the vertical learning curve for the Speedlight now ...

The items were very well packaged and received on the day as promised ...

Whilst I have to say ... Ian may not be the fastest in delivering/responding ... he is communicative and courteous and you would find it very hard to beat his prices ...

... and personally I would rather have best price and wait a little bit than pay more and have next day delivery ... impatient as I get (like anyone else) when awaiting new toys ... :naughty:

So ... many thanks to Ian ... ... and me ... for my seasonal gifts to me ... rock on motivation and inspiration ... where the hell are you ...

Niiiiice! The battery grip is the mutts nuts and really balances the camera well, I wouldn't be without mine.

Good luck with the SB800 manual, you'll need it! :bonk:

HaHa... good luck with the speedlight  I received one for my birthday - I think I may have learned the basics of it by the time my next birthday comes around. Complicated or what?

ooh I was looking to get get myself a flash for my D50, I'm guessing the SB800 would be a little over the top / complicated for me at the mo :(

Cheers guys 'n gals ... really looking forward to getting to grips (:shake:) with the new toys ... :D

I can see the Speedlight will be challenging although I did bung it straight on the D200 and fire a couple off ... just going to start a new thread with the results ... ;)

Haven't fitted the grip yet Col ... next jobby ... so will let you know ... :geek:

Cheers for that Colin ... ... grip certainly 'feels' good m8 ... :D ... we :nikon:

I got hold of one of these > D200 Guide (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nikon-D200-Magic-Lantern-Guide/dp/1579908861/sr=8-1/qid=1166108768/ref=pd_ka_1/203-5508383-6756741?ie=UTF8&s=books) ... explains stuff like the SB 800 in more simplistic terms than the guns manual ... ;) ... and also an excellent read for other D200 stuff too ... highly recommended ...

I'm jealous. I want a grip for my KM5D but they don't make one and I don't fancy a DIY job *** me and wiggly amps don't go well together.

Just get used to a new bit of kit and lo ... another one comes along and interrupts the learning curve again ... knocking it all for six ... :D
