after some guidance, i am wanting to purchase a wide angle for the 700, but all lenses seem to come with built in hood and prevent the use of filters.

question1/ is there a lens (wide) that doesnt have a buit in hood, that is suitable for around 16mm shooting.

2/ if not is there any way you can attach filters to say 12-24 sigma or 15-30 sigma

3/ if you cant attach filters how do you meter for a wide shot of a landscape.

4/ or is there a simple soloution and i am missing it?

cheers for advice in advance.

I'm not sure what lenses you are looking at but there are plenty that don't have built in hoods - ie Nikkor 17-35, Tamron 17-35, Nikkor 20-35, Tokina 20-35...

You can't attach filters to 12 to 15mm lens because the filter mounts will appear in the frame. You can maybe use bluetack, and use an oversized 100mm+ filter...?

The simple solution is to buy one of the 4 lenses I listed that will take filters fine :)

Tamron 17-35 is near to 16mm and is reasonable (about £200), and you can attach filters.
