I think you need to take a browse through www.nikon.co.uk to find out which remotes work with the D50. Nikon arent very good when it comes to this, as some remotes only work with some cameras and other remotes only work with other cameras.

I have a Nikon one for my D50 off ebay for about £10 and it works perfectly every time. My mate got one too and his works perfectly too :)

nelly - the ML-L3 works fine with your D50 & I had one when I had mine but in case you plan to upgrade in the future fyi it doesn't work with some Nikons (like the D200 I now have)
I also found you needed to be almost on top of the camera for it to work
For £10-£15 its *** but limited - HTH - Paul ;)
