Have I broke my camera? :(

I would appreciate any help, I have a Nikon D60 with the 55mm – 18mm kit lens, I have gone to use it this morning and then lens wont adjust its like its locked or stuck or jammed on 55mm its has a small bit of movement but when I try to take a picture it wont adjust either automatically or manually?

Please help am in panic mode now that I have broke my camera 

Take the lens off and see if it moves, and try another lens on your camera, sounds like the lens is the problem, not the camera

Try taking the lens off and see if you can zoom it when it's not attached, although as there's no mechanical interface between the lens and body, it doesn't sound promising....

Doesnt move on or off the camera and am sure its the lens, and I dont have any other lens to try, how can it just lock itself?

Deffo the lens, try the switch for manual and af look all around the lens where the two parts come together see if anything lodged down it, can you hear any grinding or grating noise as you turn it what little it moves

sounds like your lens has died. how old is it?

Camera was bought in January so might still be under warranty will go back and try to get it replaced

I cant see any way of taking it apart or seeing anything is lodged without some brute force which if I am going to try and claim under warranty I dont want break it more.

Could someone tell me where I maybe able to rent a lens in prepreation just in case?

Your right not to try to much force and dont take it to bits your guarantee would be invalid :thumbs: and take it back to the shop

take it back , be nice about it and you never know where you might get , start shouting and it will dissapear for a month or more , i g'tee you :(

Take back to Comet, I get the feeling that they will send it away to Nikon though, which might take a wee while..
