I recently purchased a Sigma 28-300 zoom. I am finding that the lens zooms on its own if tilted down. Is this a 'feature' of this lens or should I take it back.

my canon 17-85mm does this, which is extremely annoying for longer exposures, tripod & remote & I find I have to hold the end of the lens, which makes the tripod & remote pretty useless..

Happens with a lot of zooms. It's known as "lens creep".
Some have locks to stop it.

Some folk do things with rubber bands to counter it.

Fairly normal for a long zoom, as said, some of the zooms have a lock on to stop this, eg Canon 70-300 IS lens
