My 17-85mm lens arrived today :D I've spent all afternoon reading about landscape photography and use of wide angles, now all I need is the weather to perk up so I can get out there and start photographing.
Nice.
Can you not take some piccies of food in the mean time. I am starving.......
Congratulations Mate, I use the 17-85mm as my walk around lens, love it's focal range, but it is lacking a bit in image quality and from you camera bag:
Main Camera
Canon 50D
Lens #1
Canon 60mm 2.8 Macro EF-S
Lens #2
Canon 50mm 1.8
Lens #3
Canon 55-250mm 4-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom EF-S
Camera Bag
Lowepro stealth reporter
Tripod
Camlink TP2100
It to will be the lens with the less impressive IQ you have, but a really grate joy to use, just be ware of the barrel distortion and chromatic aberrations at 17mm.

Have a look at a good friend of mine's website

She lives in your neck of the woods, some of her images may give you some inspiration :)

Cheers, will do.
Mano i'm not expecting excellence here, I don't do much in the way of wide angle (yet) so didn't want to spend a fortune on a lens I wouldn't use all that much.
No more lenses for me now though until I save up for a tilt shift 90mm - quite a while off unfortunately.

Sounds great, ahh you'll make homesick. I ended up serving Damson wine with the meal - it was actually rather good.
