I saw this in Delft in Holland. The dutch decorate their bikes so they are easily picked out of the many thousands.

It's not often you see one as elegant as this:)

Could have been ridden through a rose bush....it only has a back pedal brake by the looks of it........or no brakes !:)

No brakes I would have thought.

I was enlightened on my trip to Amsterdam a couple of years ago, at their preferred mode of transport. The bike.
Dear god there must have been millions of them. I'm sure there were special bike breeding centres out there somewhere incase there's a shortfall.
They even just leave them dumped everywhere, some lock them up, some dont...lol, and most of em didnt have brakes....made walking around the place at night great fun....its like russian roulette...in holland. :D

They appear to have no brakes...but usually its a back peddle brake in the rear hub...very effective they are too.

Ahhh I never knew that.
But then again, I have an excuse...I never saw any of them using any sort of stopping mechanism...(Except for just jumping off, or the 'pedestrian brake') :D
