Just a quick one really.... planning for the future :D

Is there any downside to using a FX lens on a DX body? Or is it that all lenses are full frame except the specific DX ones?

All nikon lenses are full frame unless they say otherwise (ie are labelled DX). that 300mm F4 is a full frame lens, the 70-200 F2.8 is, as is the 55mm micro. I think your others lenses are DX ones.

No, no downside, except that perhaps the focals lengths might not be what you expect (due to the crop multiplier).

From what I understand FX lenses are meant to be good on crop cameras because the sensor only uses the central sweet spot of the glass. So no disadvantage at all. I think someone more knowledgeable will be able to expand on this though! :)

As you said, I think all lenses are full frame unless they are specified as being 'DX'.
