Hi Chaps, I have a scratch on my 40d lcd cover and it is annoying me, anyone have a link for spare parts from Canon? I know it is only a cheap item and pretty easy to fit too but I can't find a source to the parts. I emailed canon repairs with the part no's but they never got back to me.
I will mail them again but just on the off chance thought someone here may know ;)

do u mean the one that clips onto the back screen? like on nikons?

No the original one that is on the camera, it is held in with a tape and you use a suction cup to remove it.

Those are more expensive then the replacement screen.

I believe about £8 and £4 for the tape.

Again once replaced the GGS screen protector (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GGS-pro-LCD-Screen-Protector-for-Canon-40D-50D-etc-UK_W0QQitemZ290334143814QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090 726?IMSfp=TL090726137003r39810) will stop it happening again (cheaper than the whorehouse express item too!) :lol:

Both cameras are quite bad, happened on Skomer!

Nikon no longer supply covers on the D3/D3x, which I find a bit annoying - not because of potential damage to the screen, it's almost impossible to do that, but because of the way I carry cameras: they get very dirty from my forearms resting on them...sweat and dirt end up all over the screen meaning I'm constantly wiping gunge off them...It seems to me like it was less of an issue when the screen covers were attached...

I think I caught mine on a piece of sharp flint on a wall so would the nikon screen not of got damaged if it hit the same sharp bit of flint do you reckon ? If not that is pretty cool
