The DOF on Boon's image gives it a 3D appearance, I like the naturalness of the colours.
My contribution is a glass full of Skittles Sours. Mmmmm mouthwatering.

Well what a great start!

Boon - I'm loving the green and yellow but I find the contrasting red a little distracting.
Namllihs - What great colour and I love the shadow of the bowl. If I have any fault it is the distraction of the glare of the light on the candy pieces. I would love to have a bite though!

And for my attempt:

Love the flaking paint and the layers of colour. With that DOF I find the brown patch on the right a little distracting but the detail at the center is great.

Boon, thats just priceless. The depth is a real plus with striking colours

Some great entries here.....My only comment would be the trunks in the last pic look a bit blue, otherwise lovely for this theme and I love the peeling paint. As for the M&M's....how dare you when I'm trying to diet!!;)

Here's my interpretation of colours.....this started off like a pile of pick-up sticks, but didn't quite work, so it ended up as this.

Love the pencils pic, very simple but very effective. The peeling paint is very different but works.

Here is mine, it was taken last year in Lanzarote on a Samsung compact.

Umm just to let some of the new people know. The "rules" to this theme are that you must comment on the pic above yours and one other pic. Thanks.

Oops, i've edited mine now. It might be an idea to have a link to the "rules" in the first post for us "new" people.

Thanks

i think this rule should apply to all forums

I think this is as close as we are going to get to posted rules at the moment:

52 weeks in the year, so there'll be 26 themes this following year...... Every two weeks the theme will change, on a Sunday evening at around 8pm.

Discussion of the theme in here, and also share your photos in here too.
If you're submitting a photo, then please comment on 2 other photos...one of which should be the one preceding your post (Hope that makes sense).....Unless you're the first person posting a photo of course.

Snap away folks? (Guidelines, rules and the way we do things, can, and most likely will change over the next two weeks while we settle into a routine everyone's happy with  :)

Marcel.

I like the red in the Parrot, it's what made me want to submit my pic.
The sweets look good enough to steal :)
it took about 30 shots to get this picture the way I liked it.

I am trying to attatch an image for entry to the comp but it say's I am not allowed to so will have to upload one instead.
The CD is striking.

Ok then, Shorn personally I find your picture a little confusing, maybe just me but a bit unsure about what it is, however I do really like the warm colours of it.
Think my favourite on here has to be the skittles, would love to eat them, but would now be tempted to try a photo first, whats happening to me. :)
Good photos everyone.

This was one I had already but hadnt really thought anything of, but looking throught my past photos found it and thought about maybe using selective colouring but then couldnt pick which bit would work that way, so here it is in full colour

Mark you are supposed to comment on the photo before and one other when you post a picture.

Love you picture, the colours are so bright an idea I had never thought of.

Crap, sorry, dashing around like mad over the weekend and posted that image in haste! Thanks Sue...

Sue, I had a VERY quick go at selective colouring on your image, but I think the blues might be a bit out of place and perhaps look a bit too vivid in the context of the image.

http://www2.markphelan.net/colourBench2.jpg

If I had time, I'd have a go with colouring the leaves perhaps, since they seem to be one of the most vivid colours on the image. Nice deep image though, I find it very easy for the eye to follow the line of the benches.

I really like photostar's image. Fantastic crop and composition although I'd be interested to see if the photo would benefit from a light tent to take the harshness out of the light. That said, the reflections do add some intrest to the photo. Nice one!

All of the above shots are really impressive and inspired me to get out and have a go myself. This is my first posted image so please be gentle :)

I just wanted something that was simple to shoot and didn't need much time to set up. The clothes pegs on the rotary dryer seemed perfect for the job.

Comment 1. For markp and his colored £2 glasses from Tesco. I think it's a good one and very representative for the theme.

Comment 2. For sue, I like the contrast the blue bench is great with the greens and browns of this picture in the park. I only feel it little overexposed in some parts.

My picture:
http://www.pablopuga.com/photos/126049039-M-1.jpg

This is called "Ave del paraiso" in spanish of course, I don't really know the name in english could be "Paradise bird flower" but that's only the translation. When I took this picture a few weeks ago I was amazed by the colors of it. Hope you like it.

(hope I didn't miss anything of the rules)

See you mates
