Hi,

New to the forum and new to digital photography.

Looking to get a Canon DSLR in the next few weeks, have been given an old EOS 1000F with a couple of Sigma AF lenses - the lenses have the prefix UC on them. Am somewhat unsure whether these lenses will work with a new body.

Can anyone shed any light?

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, the EOS mount is shared by the DSLRs, so the lens brand and type should not be relevant if it fitted EOS type AF SLRs.

Older Sigmas may need rechipping. Some can be done, others can't.

An EOS fitment lens will fit, but it may not work properly. Only real way to tell is to try, although maybe if you quote model numbers and serial numbers to Sigma UK maybe they can advise you.

1Ds mark 1 may be your best hope if you are desperate to use them... Otherwise you might need to get new lenses.
