View Full Version : Underwater Photography
I quite like to Scuba dive and have used an underwater video camera on a few occasions to do some filming. However I have only ever used a crappy underwater camera to take pics and was wondering what is out there to use? The video cameras I have used are basically just encased in a protective case....standard camera ***.
Anything available?
I think only sealife and another manufacturer produce dedicated cameras for underwater.
The best option is to use a housing. This way if you need to replace either the camera or the housing, it should be cheaper than replacing a dedicated unit.
If you are considering underwater still photography, you can get housing for most of the digital compacts available guarenteed to 40M (which should be more than adiquate.
I don't know how you'd use a strobe with these though, unless they are being made to activate as a slave.
Try Ewa Marine; they make the best underwater housings - will also make custom housings for any type of kit.
