I've been taking photographs at a few golf tournaments over the summer - no majors, just comps - here's an image from a very cold, wet and windy day at Wychwood Park.

I tried shooting golf for the first time this summer as well, harder than it looks!

I like all 3 images here, just a shame #2 isn't slightly higher at the top to capture all of the grass in the air

The main problem with photographing golf is that you have no control (no idea even) where they are going to be or which direction they are going to be facing. Also, they park buggies all over the place and put their bags down right in the way of the shots. So yes, more difficult that one might think.

and I agree with you about the shot with the grass; could have been better.

My shots are nothing as good as yours and I also like the one you've just added.

When I shot last month, I was lucky enough to be able to follow a group of 4 for several holes rather than having to sit and wait for them to come within range. It didn't help much as like you say, they seem to abandon their kit all over the pace (invariably in your way) but I hope to go back again soon, it was an interesting day.
