I believe your only choice is a genuine Canon or an el cheapo chinese one on ebay.

The one I got from eBay for about £5 is more than adequate. I press the button, it triggers the shutter.

Canon cable release is only £12.87p from warehouse express (http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-canon-rs-60e3-remote-switch/p1000205)
Or, see Flash in the Pan's post in the for sale section. I got one from him the other day, only used it to try it out a couple of times but it worked when I wanted it to :D

I got a canon one from Amazon yesterday for £12.99, was looking at a cheapo one for £5 but the shipping cost made it almost the same price!

(off topic): Kerioak you've got to put a warning on that signature, everytime I read it I can't stop laughing

It made me laugh as well but is sooo true. I had to move out of the way of a fast moving polo ball followed by a horse a couple of weeks ago - mind you, many of Cobra's post make me smile :p
