ive the 105mm version of this lens, want the 150mm (once ive got my 70mm-300mm is lens i'll save for a 150mm version)
worth having? in to bugs/insects and flowers and getting up close and personal then yes definately worth having
capabilities, once you get to grips with it (ive not lol) its a great macro lens
one thing ive noticed, on board flash aint good enough to help get great macro shots, so add a flash to my wants too
first of all..mods thanks for moving this post, apologies for putting it in the wrong place........:cuckoo:
thanks for the reply fragdude, i will have to take a look at this lens me thinks
ps i have replied to your further questions regarding the 70-300 lens
sigma 150 macro is probably the sharpest lens sigma make! also makes a superb portrait lens.

Its a great lens I used to have the nikon 60mm then I got the Sigma 105 but I prefer my current 150mm its even better with some extension tubes but it has an incredibly narrow depth of field with those attached.
The following are some examples taken with the 150mm

i nearly went for the 100mm Canon Macro about a year or so back, maybe a bit more. In the end one came up here on the classifieds for a reasonable price, and i ended up with it. Its fantastic, and i am glad that i didnt get the 100mm as i would always be wanting the 150 in the back of my mind.
Just out of interest, how much can you get one for now?

I have the Sigma 150 and it is a great lens for macro and general shooting, some of my best shots have been taken with it. I also use it with a the Sigma 1.4 TC for extra reach and even with a 2 x TC it still produces fine shots.
Here are some samples

You won't regret it.
That shot from dogfish reminded me of another non-macro shot I took with my Siggy 150
