HELP!

OK - I suspect I'm being blonde here. For the past two days I've been missing ALL the graphics from the boards. Smilies, pics, avatars - the lot. Even the "clicky buttons" are just appearing as text in an box rather than as a button.

I assume that somewhere along the line I've made it appear this way - but I don't know how to put it back. Any ideas?!

Opera. I did think of trying it in IE but I've had a couple of other forums up on Opera with no problems at all So I don't honestly feel it's a browser problem. having said that I shall give IE a try and see.

Sorted - although I'm not sure why/how. I did try it in IE and everything worked fine. Last night when I first noticed it I tried everything from closing Opera and restarting, to reopening the forums, logging out and back in, and nothing worked. Having found it working on IE tonight I've just closed the tab on opera, opened a new tab, and logged back in, and it's fine.

Not sure what I'd done but I've obviously managed somehow to undo it again so that's OK!

Never mind IE ... :eek: ... and I don't know about Opera ... but have you tried FireFox at all ... :shrug: ... it was recommended to me aeons back when I had some problems here ... never looked back since ... :thumbs:

Of course the problems might have a foundation in these here forums and the mods can't be *rsed to fix it so they recommend FireFox as the easy option ... for them ... :naughty:

Witch, Opera has a thing for keyboard shortcuts, it's all too possible to press a key combo without realising it and change something, for future reference..... F1 brings up the help and ALT P brings up the preferences screen.

To display images press ALT P and click the Web Pages tab, choose 'Show Images' from the drop down menu.

I bet that's what I'd done then - cheers for that shortcut - at least if I do it again all I need to do is search for this thread!

Opera and Firefox are meant to be very similar I believe? The beauty of Opera at the moment is that relatively few people use it so it's still fairly "safe" and free from the glaring holes in IE, with the rise in popularity of FF I hear it's started to be targetted a little more by those who exploit such things.
