Beer and Curry. Now you're talking my language.

I would jump at the chance of this even if it is the wrong side of the bridge :) one small problem for a Welshman ... The 6 Nations begins!

Saturday, 10 February 2007
England v Italy, 13:30
Scotland v Wales, 15:30

Sunday, 11 February 2007Ireland v France, 15:00

Plus, the Tuesday sees my trip to the Highlands..

OK we've a bit of interest.
I'm keen to make this happen, but I dont want to be stood there by myself anyone else for anymore?

Where do we want to meet up initially ... outside the Hipodrome at say 11am?
Do we need an itinery Humphrey or do we just generally mosey around?

How do we make this work peeps?

Where you coming from?
- then can advise.

As a tip: On Sundays you can park on single yellow lines
(there are lots of these around the center that you can occupy)

I'd love to try and get along to this if that's OK.

It occurred to me the other day that I've got a severe case of snappers block and it's been months since I've shot anything I like or had any passion for, outside of work.

A day out shooting, getting to know and chewing the fat with some photographers would be a real treat. :)

I see it's been decided that i'm coming :D

Where are we meeting? and where can i park?

How far away is Bristol temple Meads train station from where you are planning on meeting? I'm still thinking about it, but it means a 3hr train journey each way

Bristol Temple Meads to the Hipodrome is no more than a 20 min walk. To make your journey quicker, its possibly worth driving to Reading and getting the train from there rather than heading into London

Woot :woot: ... looks like its a goer... I was getting concerned.... no posts for nearly a week.

As to parking... depends when you arrive. Any single yellow (and there are lots around whiteladies road or Frogmore street (ask for the icerink) etc) are free on a sunday. If you dont mind coughing up a couple of quid then there is the Frogmore St multi storey that always has spaces.

Mini... (any others from TempleMeads) If I know when you are arriving I can either pick you up or walk through with you... There are quite a few interesting places to point glass at on the way.
*** as 'rwotty says it is a good 15 mins.

Ok My suggestion is we meet infront of here @11am :...

or

As I said before.. generaly not a prob to park on single yellows.

Sometimes there are spaces on Parks St (but dont bank on it... and its steep and long).

Pay parking is available by the icerink or on Anchor road just (left just after @Bristol/Imax))

Bugger, no decent trains from Scunthorpe to Bristol otherwise I would have been tempted.

You can get out of Scunthorpe by train :)

Seriously *** you are right... the only way is via Birmingham and that probably requires a 3hr wait.

That and its the other side of the known universe (I used to go to Uni in Hull)

Any plans on the food front yet?

Haven't lived in Bristol for the best part of five years, so I don't know any of the curry places any more. We used to go to a place off the triangle (Balti Hut I think?) after a few in the Berkeley

:)

oldgit
05-02-2007, 21:38
'pends where we end up.
Clifton end or... down in town.
... plenty of good curry huts up near Clifton/Redland
... Bodukan is a good spot just at that back of the Hippodrome

That sed I'm easy as long as its cooked and tasty (preferably with a beer or 2)

Postpone?
... I'm watching the snow pile down here at work and the wife at home in Bristol is watching the sleet splatter...

From here on out for the next week is reputed to be a washout...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=1263

Unless anyone has strong views otherwise I suggest we park this for a while...???

chenko

I don't know why so many people cry over snow. Open the schools I say!

I'm still up for it, this should be the last day of snow and the temps are rising. Just depends on the others I guess.

There's no snow in Brissle, but its wet and due to stay that way :(
A full day will probably be very soggy and unpleasant, but we can still meet up if we want to
