That'd be fantastic Mike, you still got my mobile number?
The members entrance is closed during the off peak season we have to go in with the common folk ;)
Check your pm's Matt.
Hopefully we'll have some sunshine on the 7th, as it's very overcast here at the moment. :(

Well thats four of us going :)
Sue & George may be coming along as well, will let you know later.
With the weather at the mo, I think my fingerless gloves may be coming in useful - I really need a remote shutter release so as I can keep my hands in my pockets though

We have fingerless gloves too - I've yet to try mine out though, I should imagine that I'm going to get the oppertunity to do so on Wednesday though.
Still, sausage chips and beans for lunch, and I bet they don't have the hot dog kiosks open selling hot dogs and slushies :(
Hmmm think I will have to dig out my gloves think I might be needing them.
Looking forward to getting out with camera again been a while.
Same here, really need to get some practice in!
Why is it that every time I go to Chester Zoo, the hotdog stalls are always closed or have sold out? (Grrrr smilie in text because the real one isn't working for some reason) & why every time I need an angry smilie do they disappear (Just kidding  )
Looking forward to wednesday. Sue & George will be coming along by the way.
Weather looking good for chester for the beginning of next week, lets hope it last until wednesday.

awwww come on DF you live but 5 minutes away!
Seriously though I'm keeping an eye on the weather - still says sleet for Wednesday and heavy snow for Thursday. It might be that we have to make a decision Tuesday evening - I have everyone's mobile number though.
I've just been looking at the Beebs weather forecast for Chester today, mainly showers it says. Hmmm..... I'm looking out my front window now......and the sun is shining in the blue cloudless sky! It really is a lovely day :) I see they have Wednesday down for sunny intervals

Yeah it changed this morning, Chester is sunny intervals for Wednesday and Bradford is bright and sunny all week.
Still got the day booked off work mind you so we'll be going.
My sisters are coming along for the ride too, should be interesting.

Still looking like sunny intervals tomorrow with temperatures from -3 to 3.
Its going to be nippy.
There was a smattering of snow here this morning, and it's definitely thermals weather, but it has been sunny. If it stays like this weather wise tomorrow, it should be a good day :)

Aye it should be super, I need some VERY warm underwear on though.
just walking from work to the car was horrendous earlier. Might have to forgo the TP fleece and wear my big sheep instead - I can fit more clothes under that. ;)
Ok still looking forward to this, but think might have to wrap up warm. Hoping that some of the animals will be out and about. Havent told matt yet but might see about borrowing his lense to have a play see if I need one as big as that, or would be better with something slightly shorter.

Well,
My batteries are charged, my lenses are clean and dust free, memory cards are clear, 100-400L is attached and ready. .ISO reset to 200, image type set to RAW only (I must be feeling brave). Just waiting for the AA's to recharge for my flash and I'm all set for tomorrow.
Hope you're wrong about the snow Tom, with any luck it'll hold off until I'm supposed to be at work and I can get snowed in.

well we are just on our way back home and are just joining a rather large traffic jam on the m6. we couldn't have asked for better light, I was shooting in iso 100 for most of the day.
Was lovely to meet mike, mike and george again and I might have even gained us a couple of extra members - I still had some tp business cards in my camera bag.
tomtom reckons its going to be 7:15 before we get back, sigh. just hope we make it past saddleworth before it snows.
thanks for a great day out folks. it was fantastic.

Skies are looking clear over Skipton so recon you should be ok for a while yet - looks like the snow aint gonna hit up here until after midday tommorow if at all! its all coming in from the south east :(
might get some nice sunsets if you make it up onto the moors in the next half hour :)

At one point it told us 19:50.
Home now though, my feet are freezing :(
Hope I got some good shots :D
Sure you have mate, was good to see you & Sue, Mike & George again.
Not overly impressed with my shots for the day, one or two are looking ok but will post them up asap.
thanks all for a nice day out, was nice to see everyone again.
Was getting a bit worried when tom tom said we might not be home till 8 as I am hungry now, so need to decide what we are having now.

I'm really happy with what I've managed to shoot today. Think I've got a couple of corkers.
Been through my initial cull and I still have 173 raw files left.
I shot in RAW on its own today too :D
Going to pick one and process it for the photoblog now.
Don't you people have to work?!:bat:
its called working shifts and days holidays ;)
Matt Charlton
07-02-2007, 21:00

A really sunny day at the zoo today, and a real pleasure to meet Matt, Sue & Mike again and to meet George too  I'm glad to see you all made it home ok as well.
I've got a few pics ready to put up soon, & plenty more to sift through :)

In case anyone is wondering about moomike's new title.....
We went to the cafe at the zoo today and I got sausage chips and beans. He was behind me and asked for the same and was asked if he would like a child portion. Cue a day of endless ribbing from me and a promise that I'd get Matty to change his forum title to something relevant ;)
Sorry mate.....honest :p
:D
LOL! I never noticed Moomike's new monicker till you pointed it out Matt :) I didn't witness the actually incident at the cafe, but I can confirm that the ribbing continued for the rest of the afternoon :)

Just to annoy mike a bit :) one of many I managed to get :p
 You guys are all hilarious!! No, really...
I'm going to have to see if I have a sealion jumping shot that is anywhere near useable :shake: (but I doubt it)
Looks like everyone got some really great shots.
Cheers again for a great day.

I also don't think that training sealions so as they hide everytime I try to photograph them was very funny either :p
