Well ended up ordering a 7D, ooops, as a 2nd Body. And I wanted one for the hell of it.
Now I use Scandisk Extreme III CF at the mo.
I keep seeing all this talk of faster 300X etc. Would it be worth my while upgrading?
I see Scandisk have new cards out but at silly prices.
But lots of others are talking of 300X UDMA. Is it all its cracked up to be?

It depends on how much you use the burst mode to shoot at 8 fps. The speed of the card has little effect on how quickly the buffer fills. But it can have a huge impact on how fast it empties (and the camera's usable again). It may also effect recording video - but I've not tried that yet.

I'm contemplating the 5dmk2 or the 7 - not sure yet - but wondered the same thing in terms of video. Maybe a few members with the 7 or 5dII can burst a bit of video on different cards, and see if they can spot any significant issues?

I have been reading the Transend 600X does very well in the 7D.
Could be tempted :)

it seems that alot of 5d users are shooting video onto 133x cards with no problems

Just picked up a Transend Pro 600X 8Gb for £50 so will be testing this bad boy out in the 7D very soon :)
