Hi,

Asking for a friend who is off travelling for six months.

He needs a small, pocket-size P&S that will take semi-decent images.

I tried to persuade him on the Canon G series, but they're too expensive.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I asked the same last week - Canon IXUS 80/85/90/95 on discount, or a Panosonic Lumix were the order of the day. Best I could find was IXUS 90 on eBay for about £120.

What about one of those new Olympus compacts, you know the one that they advertised with the wee boy chucking it around the garden?

Thanks for the suggestions. Not sure which Oly that was - can anyone else help?

Recently got my better half the Canon Ixus 85 and got to say its a great little camera for the money, small, solidly built and produces good results in most situations also has a quite acceptable video recording mode

Canon ixus 80 are being sold off in tesco for under £100. They're still well over that on amazon etc.
