Hi,

just wondering if anyone had any idea when the release date for the Sony A500 is?

A550 is already turning up in the Far East (e.g. Digitalrev) so I would imagine that the A500 isn't far behind - I believe that UK is supposed to be end of October?
Got to say that high ISO shots from the A550 are looking very impressive.

Personaly I would go for 550. If money isnt a problem of course...

On paper, the A550 is definitely worth the extra cash IMO.........

Plus the body only prices at WHE are only £40 apart!!

If think there seems to be more options the a500 like the hdr and smile recognition, don't think these are on the a550

Good point! But I'd rather have the extra 2MP and the the way better screen!

HDR and "smile recognition" would be wasted on me but obviously not everyone is the same.......

Good idea from Sony to split the different features up and keep the costs down rather than pile them all in to one body and charge the earth! Both cameras offer very good value on paper I just hope they live up to it!!
