Hi all,
I'm looking to get a uwa lens and I have narrowed it down to these two lenses,
canon 10-22 mm and the tamron 11-16mm,
which one would best suit my 450d,
thanks for your help
regards john.
I think the Canon option is the best in terms of IQ also 1mm is well worth having at the wide end particlarly if you want to take photo'sof interiors.
I researched this quite a bit, before deciding on the Sigma 10-20, and then changing my mind at the last minute and going for the Canon 10-22 based on everyone's comments.
I've not used it yet as it is a birthday present for me, but, if it helps, I ordered it from Onestop-Digital in Hong Kong. It's on there for £499, but I tried a price match with another firm on the Internet and they agreed to let me have it for £489 (they said the other firms didn't include tax). It was delivered within a week and I was able to track it with Fedex all the way.
Excellent service.
Tokina 11-16 is considered on of the best on a crop body
I understood the Tokina to be an excellent lens, but what swung it for me was the extra range I would get with the Canon.

Hi goody, can you remember the online store who price matched for you,
regards john.
Hi John,
I think this was one of the links I used http://www.simplyelectronics.net/mainproduct.php?pid=609&gclid=CLn4z5302J0CFVBd4wodpGwtrA
Onestop-Digital's response was that they couldn't price match with that site as they did not include import tax but they said the best they could do was £489.xx.

Hi Peter,
thanks for the link,
regards john.
If you're going to import I can recommend either Digital Rev or FujiSunrise (ebay).
I have used both and cannot fault either.
