What would compliment my new purchase? Canon 40D i notice lexar do them for a small remortgage for the 300x

but whats best between £20 to £30 range?

Sandisk Extreme III are about £20 for 4Gb or £33 for 8Gb on Amazon and other places. YOu can't go wrong with them.

Or look at the slightly older Sandisk Ultra 11's- get a lot more for your money (though they are slower)

i will browse. I have never purchased memory from ebay just incase lol. well i say i haven't just a USB flash drive,

Purchased 2 8gb kingston cards from hotdealsuk on ebay. The cards were genuine and £12.50 delivered. Cards are not the most speedy things in the world (they say 133x) but they work.

for a 40d, I would think the II's would do

I've never noticed any performance issue (5D users) with the whatever-jessops-sold-me-with-the-camera card!
