If you scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Dark' from the styles menu you will get a taste of a new theme im working on, its a combination of the grey, blue and requested darker theme, its a work in progress, so some of the icons are a little ropey, but before i get this finished, is it ok for you? will it be used much?

I quite like it but it is a bit hard on the eyes

I don't like it, don't think the dark grey goes well with the existing blue.

Thought Id prefer the dark background but I actually find it hard on my eyes.
Think Id prefer to stick to blue

It is better, as it currently is, than the really dark one of a couple days ago Matty ... rather liking it ... ... depending on how the Green comes out ... of course ... :D

Talking of which ... ;) ... ... :D

EDIT: ... Liking the effect on my Green ...

I prefer the original blue one tbh. The dark looks nice, but as others have said, it's very hard going on the eyes... although it might make me not stay so long on the forums and actually get me out taking pictures

Ven's green does indeed look a bit special against that dark background. I think I quite like it. I'm going to leave it set for a bit and see how I get on.

Much better than the original grey but a bit too strong / harsh. Maybe somewhere between the two?

Ew, nasty. Get Firefox and the Web developer extension and you can make CSS changes and see how they affect the site in your browser. Then just copy/paste the CSS. Aren't there any nice CSS templates for vBulliten?

Mmmm, I have the dark enabled and quite like it but after a time it could get tiring. I will try it for a couple of hours and see how I like it after time.:)

I'll go with it for a while but at the mo agree with Grendel.

I am impressed with Ven's theme tho'. :)

Like my running horse too. :)

What was wrong with the old one, don't like this at all.

Mind you it does remind me to pop out and buy that paper I need to write a letter, now where was the shop for the Grey paper again ;-)

I think I'm liking the blue better. But this is about offering a choice so I'll stick with the original. I just fine reading white lettering on a dark background very hard on the eyes.

I dont think it works, doesnt go as well together as the blue or grey variants. Will have to lose the greay background and the blue me thinks.

The 'dark' theme does not stick for me so I have to select it for each page I view.

Just been trying it on picture sharing threads and have to say I prefer the background that colour. Don't like the bright header bars. Also I get to see Google ad banners when using the dark theme.

tweak away :)

i will try that, have a nice new 19" widescreen so should be able to do that with little effort.

yeah i got a few templates, but a lot of other forums use them already, and although i like some of the templates we dont want to look like FM or others, we want to be us, if you see what i mean

Are you still working on it Matty ? Not that I dislike the blue theme but you did seem quite enthusiastic when you started this thread. :)
